Join WheresX for his debut exhibit at Scratch DJ Academy

Documentary Photographer Xavier Webber, also known as “WheresX”, will debut his fully-curated exhibit, Stills of Sound, on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at Scratch DJ Academy: the world’s leading DJ and music production learning center co-developed by Jam Master Jay of Run DMC.

Incorporating both the culture of photography and the art behind the DJ, Webber will utilize the academy’s space in order to provide attendees with a cohesive event dedicated to fusing both sides of the music world.

“With Stills of Sound,” Xavier explains, “I’ll be able to make sure that everything from the music, to the crowd, to what people are drinking reflects exactly what is showing on the wall.”

Selected photographers include Alberto Vargas, Nick Torres, Harrison Corwin, and Alexander Richter, all of whom have worked closely with artists in the hip-hop world.

Vargas, who has previously shown at the Museum of Modern Art, The Art Director’s Club, Clic Gallery, and MODA, will be providing portraits of artists, while Torres’ life-long admiration for hip-hop cover art will assist in highlighting the future of the industry. Richter, having previously worked with XXL and Hip Hop Connection, will enlighten viewers on his side of the industry with his developed documentary style, and Corwin’s self-taught talent will connect the aspiring to the professional.

Additionally, Webber has carefully selected the music for the evening, which includes Scratch Academy NYC’s MARVELiTO, DJ/writer ALTernate Ears, and model/photographer/DJ Bandana Santana. “It’s important to give everyone a platform to showcase their talent that they put countless of hours into perfecting.”

Stills of Sound will be open to the public on Thursday, January 28th from 6:00 to 9:00PM at 32 Cooper Square, New York, NY 2FL.
