MNEK Premieres ‘The Mixtape Noun’

MNEK has impressed many ears with his recent “Every Little Word” track, and now the 19-year-old producer is back, showing us even more versatility. Growing up in the ’90s on a healthy dose of that classic hip-hop, r&b, and soul has definitely affected his craft, and The Mixtape Noun–which contains all of that, plus some exclusive MNEK re-edits–easily exemplifies this fact.

He displays genre-bending at its finest, blending some old-school jams by artists like Groove Theory and Whitney Houston with those of the new by artists like Pharell. Remember that housey, trance-like song “and that’s what takes me higher,” by Sonique? Yeah, he somehow manages to blend that into the mix as well.

Using quick blends, playing only one verse per song, MNEK manages to fit in roughly 15 songs in this six-minute mix. Every Little Word comes out today, but quench your slight thirst with this mix. Press play and enjoy!
