Normally, around this time of the month I’d go about my day like the average Joe, worrying about work, school, my writing, etc. This year is a little bit different. Now, I’m spending my time creating costumes from clothing I already have to successfully enjoy all of the events I will be attending this month in celebration of Halloween 2013!
Now, this post is not really to brag or gloat about my awesome, newly inherited, eventful life, but to share with YOU guys some of the fun things you can do this month to celebrate the spooky and fun holiday. (That is if you DO celebrate Halloween. If you don’t, I’m sure Netflix is a great choice as well!)
If you’re into the scary and thrilling aspect of Halloween, there are plenty of attractions in the tri-state area that you can go to!
- Blood Manor: New York City’s premiere haunted attraction is currently open and ready to scare the pants off of a few people. Access Hollywood even called this haunted house the “scariest place in the city”. (Hint: if you’re a student, you get a special discount!)
- Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey)/ Fright Fest: If you love the thrill of an 80 mph drop as well as the adrenaline of a zombie chasing after you, Fright Fest is the place to be. On top of the insane selection of roller coasters to choose from, you get to explore four haunted houses within the amusement park. Hurry up and get there; Fright Fest ends October 27th.
- CBS New York’s 5 Scariest Haunted Houses: Haunted houses tickle your fancy the most? Check out the top five houses you should check out in New York!
- Now this isn’t a house or amusement park, but you will definitely get a good scare and a workout while you’re at it! This one is for all of my “Walking Dead” AND fitness fans: “The Walking Dead Escape” on October 12th. You have two choices.. Do you want to go through this intense obstacle course as a survivor, or a walker? Choose wisely. (This is also a great way to kickoff the October 13th season premiere!)
Now, for all of my freaks that like to come out at night and move with the strobe lights, here are some outrageous concerts/parties you should checkout this month.
***ALSO on 10/25*** Want to get all dressed up and celebrate Halloween? How about you do it on a boat?? Bounce Boat is bringing you their Halloween edition.
(Saturday, October 31st aka HALLOWEEN) Here’s round three of Pier of Fear: “Get Wet LIVE Tour“. The fine ladies of Krewella will be throwing down for Halloween night with special guest Gareth Emery and support from Seven Lions, Candyland, and Cash Cash.
This is for COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY: If you’re not feeling anything going on above and STILL do not have plans, you can always join DJ MARVELiTO at Syracuse University from 10/31-11/2! If this intrigues you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for all of the information.
